Genesis Selling England By The Sessions (1972-1973)

Ci sono alcune cose particolarmente interessanti in queste registrazioni, come la traccia 1 del disco 1 che si revela un demo di un B-side di Mike Rutherford "Compression".

E' presente anche "After The Ordeal" in una versione elettrica veloce, ed una versione inquietante di "Dancing With The Moonlit Knight" con Tony Phillips al piano e Peter Gabriel che canta.

Selling England By The Pound è il quinto album dei Genesis, registrato e pubblicato nel 1973. Successone commerciale, raggiunge la 3° posizione nella Hit del Regno Unito (rimanendoci per 21 settimane) e guadagnandosi un disco d'oro in USA.

La copertina dell'album è un dipinto di Betty Swanwick (The Dream) a cui i Genesis hanno chiesto solo successivamente di aggiungere un tagliaerba, come allusione alla canzone I Know What I Like.

Grand Funk Railroad Good Singin' Good Payin'

Dopo il sorprendente dark e controllato Born To Die, l'originale line-up dei Grand Funk Railroad per registrare un nuovo album nel 1976. Frank Zappa ne fu il produttore, e per quanto strano come matrimonio, il risultato finale fu uno dei migliori album dei Grand Funk.

Canzoni come You Can Do It e Out To Get You (con un assolo di chitarra di Frank Zappa) sono dense di quell'energia hard rock che si era persa in All The Girls In The World Beware ed anche in Born To Die.

Pink Floyd a Montreux 1970.

Entrambi gli show furono registrarti e la casa discografica EMI stampò un acetato con incluse interviste a David Gilmour in francese, ma non vennero mai messi in commercio. Probabilmente vennero considerati per un utilizzo promozionale, infatti "Just Another Twelve Bar" è riportato sull'acetato ma in realtà non è altro che un'improvvisato blues strumentale.

Il concerto è completo, la qualità è veramente ottima considerando l'anno ed è particolarmente interessante la versiona di "Atom Heart Mother" senza la sezione dei fiati.
